Welcome and thank you for allowing me to take part in your life's journey! I received my Bachelor's Degree in Art Therapy, with a minor in Psychology and studio art, from Capital University in 2011. In February 2016, I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I began my counseling experience in 2015 and received my License as a Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia in 2020.
I take an evidenced-based, client-centered, and trauma- informed approach. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate and work at your own pace to help you reach your goals. I have additional training and experience with utilizing: play therapy, sand tray therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, neuroscience of mental health disorders, cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement integration, and mindfulness-based interventions. In addition to more traditional counseling techniques, I enjoy utilizing nature based experiences to assist with healing. I come from a family of military members and veterans and So I love the work I have done over the last few years helping these families and individuals heal.
As your therapist, I am here to support you in gaining a better understanding of yourself, making meaning, creating comfort, and uncovering resources to help you be your most authentic self.
